Jewelry
Cleaning and maintaining jewelry must be done if the owner
of a piece of jewelry wants for it to continue to turn heads. Although
cleaning it is not difficult, care must be taken to ensure no problems
occur.
A person who plans to clean her jewelry should have three main items
with her in order to do the cleaning. This is particularly true of cleaning
gold. The three items needed are a soft-head toothbrush, a soft cloth
and a mild dish detergent. Once a person has these three items, she
can progress with cleaning the jewelry.
The dish detergent should be mixed with some warm water in a bowl. Not
a lot of detergent is needed. Probably one part detergent for 10 parts
water is more than enough. After adding both the detergent and the water,
the mixture should be stirred.
Next, the jewelry should be placed directly into the mixture. Be careful
to lay the jewelry inside the mixture carefully to avoid bumping it
or causing it to be damaged. The jewelry should typically sit in the
mixture for 5-10 minutes.
Next, the cleaner must remove the jewelry and gently scrub it with the
soft toothbrush. If the jewelry includes layers or small areas that
are hard to get to, the cleaner should pay special attention to these
areas.
The jewelry must be rinsed well to ensure no soap sticks to it. By wiping
the jewelry down with a soft cloth, the owner can improve the likelihood
that all the soap will be removed.
