Jewelry boxes

A person who is interested in keeping his or her jewelry in good shape should consider using jewelry boxes. There is a wide variety of jewelry boxes, but the fact is that they are all pretty similar in that their purpose is to hold jewelry.

One of the areas in which they differ is the material from which these boxes are made. Many jewelry boxes are made from wood. One of the more popular types of wood that people use to make these boxes is cherry. Cherry has a rich, dark color. In addition to its aesthetics, this type of wood also is strong and heavy. This makes it a good wood to use to protect important jewelry.

Oak is another type of wood that often is used. Oak is another heavy wood and is perhaps the most solid kind of wood used for jewelry boxes. If the jewelry box is small, perhaps the kind of wood used does not matter very much. But if a whole jewelry chest is being created, an oak chest would be heavier than a chest made from another material. This might be a consideration for those who would need to move the item

Other jewelry boxes are made from other materials. For example, some boxes are made from wicker, while others are made from aluminum. A metal jewelry box is usually better for jewelry that is not made of metal as well because it can create scratches on the jewelry than other types of jewelry boxes might not.
